You Come At The King, You Best Not Miss

I have no idea if there was any justification for the pre-dawn FBI raid of Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, Florida on Monday.

That is sad in itself.

It used to be that if the FBI was involved ,and a federal judge had signed a search warrant that there was probable cause for this most intrusive of law enforcement measures, you could believe it was legitimate.

Unfortunately, that is no longer the case.

That is particularly true when it involves Donald J. Trump.

The visceral hatred of Trump is so intense that there seems to be no boundaries to the lengths that the Deep State will go to prevent him from becoming President of the United States once again.

We have already witnessed the false Russian collusion allegations that were largely based on fake stories planted by the Hillary campaign and were then used by the FBI (signed off by a federal judge) as justification to wiretap the Trump campaign and associates under FISA rules.

We now know the FBI was complicit in the fake collusion narrative compounded by biased media reporting.

We have already seen two trumped up (sorry, the term fits here) impeachment efforts on the flimsiest of allegations.

We have seen the FBI and DOJ throw the book at anyone in close proximity to the U.S. Capitol on January 6 but do almost nothing about anyone who ransacked and burned up dozens of cities in the summer of 2020 in the so-called Black Lives Matter protests.

We have also seen reams of evidence suggesting that federal crimes were probably committed by Hillary Clinton and Hunter Biden.

Hillary bleached bit and hammered her hard drives to death. It was shown she had scores of classified documents on her personal computer but was given a pass by the FBI.

Hunter Biden was protected by dozens of national security experts and the media which claimed that the crimes in plain sight on his laptop were all Russian disinformation.

We now know the only disinformation was from those so-called intelligence experts.

Lois Lerner and the IRS were specifically targeting conservative advocacy groups in the Obama years and Lerner walked away with a full pension and retirement benefits.

Diane Feinstein employed a Communist Chinese agent as her personal driver for 20 years. 

Eric Swalwell, had an affair with a suspected Communist Chinese agent but he still sits on the House Select Committee on Intelligence. 

Sandy Berger, who was a close political ally of Bill and and Hillary Clinton, stuffed classified documents in his pants and socks from the National Archives after he had left his federal position, lied to federal agents about it, and ultimately was charged and pleaded guilty to a minor misdemeanor charge. 

Did the FBI get search warrants to raid any of these Democrat homes at 5am?

No.

However, this seems to have been common place for anyone associated with Trump...and now extends to Trump himself.

Does anyone see a double standard at play here?

Of course, what is truly unprecedented here is this raid involved a former President of the United States.

This also involves the individual who poses the most significant threat to the Democrats retaining the White House in 2024.

There has not been anything remotely close to this overreach in American history.

This feels more like the Soviet Union, North Korea or a banana republic where political rivals are just dispensed with by putting them in jail as "enemies of the people".

All I can say is the Department of Justice and FBI better have an ironclad case that Donald Trump did something beyond taking a few White House scratch pads with him when he left (the rumor is that the raid involved an accusation that Trump may have violated "The Presidential Records Act").

Even former Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York was skeptical when he heard about the raid.

“DOJ must immediately explain the reason for its raid & it must be more than a search for inconsequential archives or it will be viewed as a political tactic and undermine any future credible investigation.”

It makes me wonder why the Deep State and Washington Establishment are so deathly afraid of Donald Trump returning to the White House?

What are they really afraid of?

All of this feels driven by a sense of desperation and panic.

We are told that Trump is a threat to our rights, our freedoms, national, economic and individual security and peace in the world.

However, I have to say I felt a whole lot better about my rights, my freedoms, my security and peace in the world in the four years that Trump was President than I have over the last two years. Those polls of voters suggest it is the same for millions of other Americans.

Over a year ago I wrote a blog post, "Trump 2024?"  in which I predicted that the Democrats and mainstream media would do everything in their power to find something on Trump that would hurt his political brand and destroy the trust that his supporters have in him.

There is little question that the Democrats are going to turn over every rock and throw everything they can at Trump and his family the next few years.  They clearly live in fear of the man. They may get something that sticks and get people to believe that it is more than political retribution. If they do, Trump will not be viable in 2024 as his political brand will be permanently damaged. Once you lose trust you don't get it back.

That is what both impeachments were about.

That is what the January 6th hearings are about.

That is what this FBI raid and what comes out of it are also about.

This brings to mind this famous quote that seems so appropriate right now.

"You come at the king, you best not miss."

The danger to the Democrats is that if they come at Trump and miss he will only get stronger with his supporters.

This only plays into everything Trump has been saying about the Deep State, the Swamp and the media.

Turnabout is also fair play.

Trump much better understands how the game in Washington is played now as compared to when he first took office in 2017.

If they come for Trump and miss, the Democrats and the Washington Establishment will have every reason to be in desperation and panic.

In the final analysis, the people of the United States will make the final judgment about Donald Trump and the Democrats.They will be the judge and jury more than any court of law.

If Trump has truly done something wrong he will pay a price. As I wrote above, if he broke the trust with the American people he will not get it back.

However, if this is another political witch hunt in which they come for Trump and miss in spectacular fashion, the Democrats and the Washington Establishment will have every reason to be in desperation and panic.

Donald Trump, backed by the American people a second time, should strike a fear in the Washington establishment that would undoubtedly also be unprecedented.

"You come at the king, you best not miss."

Indeed.
