More Illegal Immigration Insanity

Earlier this week I wrote about some mind boggling illegal immigration numbers.

The number of illegals encountered at the border each month are now exceeding the number of births in the United States.

At least 8 million illegal immigrants have entered the United States in the last three years.

The sheer numbers of illegals that have entered the United States in such a short time is now creating enormous problems on where to house all of them.

In Chicago, illegals are now being housed at O'Hare International Airport.

A new video shared by Libs of Tik Tok shows that illegal immigrants are being housed in sections of O’Hare Airport in Chicago. 

“There were too many illegals and now they overflowed into the terminal area,” Libs of Tik Tok wrote in a post shared on X. “My source says they were mainly Hispanic men and he was asked not to record. Why are they trying to hide this?!”

I think we know the answer as to why they want to this this, don't we?

I wonder if Chicago is throwing in a membership in the United or American sky club for the illegals while they are staying at O'Hare?

In New York City,  city hall told 2,000 students at James Madison High School in Brooklyn that they needed to vacate the school and have remote classes so that illegal aliens could be housed at the school.

Of course, I assume it was just a coincidence that the high school is in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood that is one of the few areas in the city that voted for Trump in 2020.

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is on X declaring that America is in the middle of a full blown housing crisis that she knows how to fix.

We just need to increase the housing supply. It's just plain old Econ 101 according to Warren.

You might ask how we all of a sudden ended up with a housing crisis?

I can't help but think that letting 8 million illegals into the country in three years might have something to do with why we are 7 million housing units short.

It appears lost on Senator Warren that it would be far easier to enforce the immigration laws and prevent 8 million illegals from entering the country than to build more housing.

The supply of illegals seems endless while the supply of affordable housing is limited.

What does Econ 101 say is the result in this situation?

Housing gets more expensive as demand increases. Rather than building more housing units we should not be feeding demand with millions of more people who need housing.

It is so bad in Massachusetts right now that the Governor and Lt. Governor have declared a state of emergency about the migrant crisis the Democrat party created and are now asking residents to house illegal immigrants in their homes.

Governor Healey says close to 5,600 families are currently housed in the state’s emergency shelter system. That number is 80% higher than one year ago. Massachusetts is the only state in the country with a right-to-shelter law that guarantees homeless families access to emergency shelters. She says Massachusetts has been spending around $45 million a month to help assist these families. The situation is so bad, the Healey administration is now asking people to open their homes and businesses to help people in need.

“Most importantly, if you have an extra room or suite in your home, please consider hosting a family. Housing and shelter is our most pressing need and become a sponsor family,” said Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll.

Consider as well that the foreign born population is higher today than at any time in the nation's history.

Higher than when those from English, Scotland and Wales were the main source of immigrants in the early years of the republic.

Higher than when scores of Irish immigrated during the potato famine in the 1840's-1850's period.

More than when Germans and Italians sought to change their fortunes in the United States shortly thereafter.

For context, consider that between 1861 and 1890, 10.4 million immigrants came to the United States, mainly from Southern and Eastern Europe (Italy, Poland etc) to support the emerging industrialization of the country.

We will see more illegals enter the United States during the four years of the Biden Administration than we did in that 30 year period.

There are more people now living in the United States who are foreign born than during all the years that Ellis Island was open in New York  as the main point of entry for almost everyone immigrating to the United States (1892-1954).

All of this is going on and Senator Warren thinks the problem is that we have not built enough housing?

The Governor of Massachusetts wants residents to share their homes with illegals?

The Mayor of New York City is kicking high school students out of school to house illegals?

Chicago is using O'Hare Airport as an immigrant shelter?

How much more insane does it have to get?

Enforce the immigration laws, secure the border and stop this insanity.
